Breast cancer symptoms vary, and may not be the same from person to person. You may experience some, or even none or all of the common symptoms. This is why it’s important to get checked out by a doctor promptly if you suspect you may be experiencing breast cancer symptoms, or have any questions about your breast cancer symptoms.

Breast Cancer Symptoms

Let us discuss some of the common breast cancer symptoms. Every woman is generally aware of the size and shape of her breast. So, one can check for any swelling or deformation in the breast by softly pressing the fingers on the breast surface. If you feel any mass, lump or any kind of thickening, consult a doctor immediately for a check up as it may be the first sign of deadly cancer. Appearance of rashes, scales on the skin can also be a symptom of breast cancer. If you find that one breast is growing larger in size as comparison to the other then you must consult a doctor.

The first subjective sign is typically a lump that feels different than the surrounding breast tissue. More than 80% of this disease cases are discovered when the woman feels a lump. According to the American Cancer Society, the first objective indication of breast cancer as detected by a physician is discovered by mammogram. Lumps found in lymph nodes located in the armpits.

Other indications may include changes in breast size or shape, skin dimpling, nipple inversion, or spontaneous single-nipple discharge. Pain is an unreliable tool in determining the presence of cancer. When cancer invades the breast cell, dermal lymphatic, and its presentation can resemble skin inflammation and thus is known as inflammatory. Symptoms of inflammatory include pain, swelling, warmth and redness throughout the breast, as well as an orange peel texture to the skin.

A nipple discharge which is abnormal in that it is usually green, bloody or clear to yellow fluid or may look like pus.

A change in appearance or any sensation of the nipple, that is, if there is any itching, any enlargement or the nipple is retracted.

A constant swollen and tender breast and/or a sudden increase in breast size - Women should consult their physician if they notice a sudden increase in breast size and also if there is constant swelling and tenderness in the breast other than when a woman is menstruating as it is fairly common for a woman’s breast to get swollen and feel tender during her period.

Indentation of nipple

Retraction or indentation is not the common thing that you would notice, this is also one of the signs where you should not wait for anything, you need to rush to your doctor and get your physical test done.

Indentation of skin over the breast

you should also check whether the skin over the breast is indented. Indentation or flattening of the skin over breast is also the symptom of breast cancer.

Redness of skin over the breast

Redness or pitting of skin over the breast is again the sign of breast cancer. The shape and texture looks similar to the skin of an orange.
